On the second day, wake up early in the morning at about 6a.m [in Hong Kong their sunrises much earlier than S’pore] It’s our first day to the official visits. Before that, we took a 45mins ride for our "Tim Sum" breakfast! Along our way, we manage to take some pictures of the beautiful scenery. After our delicious and full breakfast, our first stop is the City University of Hong Kong. First we have a little tour around the school, and then we went to sit in one of their lecture; Customers Relation Management. We know more about their lifestyles in CityU and get to know some students there. We do not have any problem communicating with the students there. The first friend I know in Hong Kong is “Kit”, he brought us around his school for a campus tour. The other friends we knew there are Anne, Teddy, Tracy and Winnie. All of them are very friendly!
Next stop we went to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), then the Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx). In Hong Kong there are many different designs/types of money issued. Their money are printed by their 3 major commercial banks, learnt more about the history of their money; what are some securities in the note itself to prevent any counterfeit; also have a look on the counterfeit notes [if we did not see the special features, it really look like the real notes!]; we also can “print” our own note there. Overall, it’s a very interesting trip! After that we visited the Hong Kong Exchange, there is a small talk conducted for us. Through the talk we learnt more about HKEx; understand more about what exactly they are doing; know about their strengths; their objectives; lastly, we went to take a look at their trading floor [last time only manage to see the trading floor in those Hong Kong TV dramas]. After all the official visits, we are dismissed, and we have our free and easy time. As for dinner, our 4 Hong Kong friends brought us around, when we having “headache” thinking of what dinner to eat, a funny incident happen… [I keep on saying the word dinner in Chinese;” wan chan”, but Kit, one of our HK friend misheard it to be “wan ton”] So after we’ve clear he miscommunication, we settle our dinner by eating “wan ton” noodles! They treat us for dinner! [the “wan ton” there is much different from S’pore, in S’pore the “wan ton” is full of minced meat can hardly see any prawns in it, however “wan ton” in HK are wrap with 2 to 3 prawns! My leader is allergy to prawns so she passed the prawns around to us… … After dinner, Angela and Li Li meet up with her friend in HK. As for the rest of us, of HK friends bring us around, but they have to leave early [they have to prepare or their coming exams], they show us our way by telling us how to get back to the point where we meeting our lecturers. After they left, the 4 of us went around exploring the area, but we got lost, no matter how we walked, kept walking around and around at the same area in circles! [-_-||| blur us!] However, we indeed have a very fruitful day!
